Kusam dan kusut sekali aturan semua benda yang ada di atas meja. Mungkin menggambarkan kekusutan fikiran pemiliknya. Banyak kertas-kertas berselerakan tanpa di susun. Beberapa Compact Disc tanpa sarungnya juga tidak tersusun. Nampak semak betul mejanya. Nampak sudah tiada ruang di atas meja itu untuk diletakkan benda yang lain. Meja komputer di sebelah meja juga sama tidak teraturnya. Lagi banyak compact disc berselerakan di sebelah papan kekunci berwarna 'transparent' cokelat. Ada sebiji 'mug' berwarna putih kekal di sebelah papan kekunci juga. Sudah lama agaknya ia di situ. Sudah berbelas jam ia diletakkan di situ setelah habis isinya diteguk. Sebuah diari juga terbuka luas di depan papan kekunci. Banyak tulisan di dalamnya. Seakan diari itu hidup untuk memberitahu tuannya perkara yang perlu dibuat. Namun tuannya tiada di situ.

Bicara tentang 'stress' tekanan dan 'depression' kemurungan. Ramai antara kita menghadapi tekanan. Mungkin daripada kerja atau keluarga. Jika lebih teruk, akan berlaku kemurungan. Jika SARS tidak mengenal siapa yang akan dijangkiti, termasuk doktor dan jururawat, kemurungan ini juga sama. Kaunselor pun boleh mendapat tekanan dan kemurungan. Apa dia kemurungan agaknya.

By definition , when we say depression, most people will understand as a mental state of feeling depressed, or helpless, or hopeless, or in despair, apathetic or being very pessimistic, and so on. But as an illness, it really means more than that. Not only a person who is depressed will feel sad or helpless, or hopeless, but very often they will also be having no interest in normal or daily activities for a prolonged period of time.At the same time, they may experience a difficulty in concentration, or decrease amount of food intake or difficulty in sleep. In reality, depression is not easily recognized by most people around the person who is depressed. Say for instance, about 90% of them will not easily recognize them. Perhaps, in about 10% of cases it will be obvious to the people around them. Depression is usually difficult to detect. 90% of people who suffer from depression behave normally most of the time. And most of the time, they don't know that they are suffering from depression. At any one time, out of 1000 people, 100 get depression, and 10 will show the classic signs of depression.

Secara ringkasnya tanda-tanda Kemurungan 'depression' adalah seperti berikut:

1. Feel persistently sad or "empty"
2. Be anxious and irritable
3. Lose interest ( " Hilang semangat " )
4. Have problems with sleep
5. Lose their appetite and weight
6. Have poor concentration
7. Feel lonely, helpless or worthless
8. Have thoughts of death
9. Have persistent physical symptoms, for example, headache, gastric problems and chronic pain

Help yourself not to get depression by:
· Do not set yourself difficult goals.
· Do not take a great deal of responsibility.
· Break large tasks into smaller ones and set some priorities.
· Do not make major life decisions.
· Do not accept your negative thoughts

Kalau ada sikit-sikit tu bukan kita depression lagi. Kalau berpanjangan barulah kita depression. Kalau sekejap-sekejap tu biasalah. yang penting kita kena kuatkan mental dengan selalu berfikiran positif dan berkawan dengan orang-orang yang positif. yang boleh bagi sokongan bukan kutukan. Kenapa tidak boleh. Kita yang tentukan...
